An arrest has been made in connection with the death of a Long Island woman who was found strangled in her home two weeks ago.
Michael Owen, 27, of Saint James, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 28 in connection to the homicide of Kelly Owen, also age 27, in South Farmingdale, on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 15, Nassau County Police announced.
Michael Owen was charged with second-degree murder. He will be arraigned on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2020 at First District Court in Hempstead.
Police have not yet said how the two are related. A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday.
Kelly Owen, a nursing student, lived at the South Farmingdale house on 1st Avenue with her mother, father and 6-year-old brother.
The Medical Examiner's Office had determined the cause of death to be asphyxiation, police said.
